Small Gestures, Real Impact.
From the first time we met, we knew. When you belong with someone, from the first hello, that sense of belonging, that sense of comfort, that feeling of home. It becomes a part of you. It is an amazing feeling when you find the one you are meant to be with.
I met my husband at the end of 2014. It was a relationship that neither of us expected but both of us wanted. We had the same taste in music, the same likes, the same dislikes, and thought the same way about everything. We never argued about anything at all. It was amazing.
In the fall of 2019, he was diagnosed with a 4x4x4 cm brain tumor which was determined to be Glioblastoma: a death sentence. No one recovers from Glioblastoma. There is no cure. The average lifespan of someone with this type of cancer is 12 to 18 months if you are lucky. He survived two resection surgeries, and several bouts of chemotherapy treatments. In the end he survived just over 4 years. I lost him in November 2023.
My husband was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He would go out of his way to help people. He always loved to build things. He loved being creative and was excellent with tools. He was also very proud to be a Canadian.
Throughout our journey there were organizations that helped us along the way from helping to cover the chemotherapy to in-house nurse visits, counselors and resources to help us along the way.
This business was born from love, loss, creativity, strength of community, my husband's legacy of helping people and a want to help others by way of giving back because that is part of what we do. We will donate $2.00 from every candle sold to Brain Cancer Research - because giving back is part of our flame by helping fund HOPE for others facing this battle.
Each candle is thoughtfully hand crafted, tested and Canadian Made. We proudly support fellow Canadian small businesses.
These candles have a passionate purpose. Not only to bring a warm scent, a clean burn, an indulgence of pleasure and a spark of light.
A single spark can ignite a flame. A single flame can ignite a fire. Buy a candle, light a candle and spark HOPE for someone living with a Brain Tumor.
